Only one Wisconsinite reported dead of COVID-19 Monday, 750 positive cases

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) Only one Wisconsinite has died of COVID-19, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported Monday for the first time in weeks.
The last time only one death was reported was Jan. 2. Prior to that, you have to go to September to find a day with only one death reported in the state.
The total death toll in Wisconsin is 5,897.
DHS reported 750 additional cases, bringing the total number of test-confirmed COVID-19 cases to 543,165.
The state agency stressed the importance of looking at the seven-day average increase of cases, which currently sits at 1,321.

CHICAGO – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) announced today that $47,056,978 in federal funding has been made available to Wisconsin Department of Health Services for costs related to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan under the federal disaster declaration of April 4, 2020.
This funding is an advance payment to Wisconsin Department of Health Services for eligible reimbursable costs to distribute and administer COVID-19 vaccines, including the establishment and operation of temporary vaccination assistance teams and facilities throughout the state.

While some MPS nursing staff members have received the vaccine, educators are in line for inoculations on March 1.
MILWAUKEE - For a district that has been operating from a distance for months, hope for a chance to be face-to-face is on the horizon.

MADISON, Wis. More than 100,000 Wisconsinites have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, 101,219 Wisconsinites have gotten both doses of a vaccine since the first doses arrived in December.
A total of 846,300 vaccine doses have been allocated to the state, and health officials have ordered an additional 641,150 doses.
To date, 542,415 Wisconsinites have tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to DHS data. Of those cases, 19,161 are still active statewide.
As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate for new tests by person was 19.6%, which is an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point since Saturday, according to DHS data. The seven-day equivalent for total tests by day dropped one-tenth of a percentage point, bringing it to 5
