Click It Or Ticket campaign returns to Wisconsin
(WKOW) Wisconsin State Patrol join thousands of law enforcement agencies, both state and nationwide Monday, in the Click It or Ticket campaign.

In a press release, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced this year s campaign will run from May 24 to June 6, encompassing the Memorial Day weekend.
The agencies will patrol in greater numbers for more hours to reinforce one safety message – BUCKLE UP.
“We’re glad to see people traveling again, and we want them to do it safely,” Wisconsin Department of Transportation Secretary-designee Craig Thompson said. “The single, most important way motorists can protect themselves and their passengers, is by making sure everyone’s buckled up, for each and every trip.”

MADISON, Wis. â The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is celebrating National Endangered Species Day (May 21, 2021) by offering a $25 rebate for new purchases of an Endangered Resources license plate. The rebate is available for the bald eagle plate and the wolf plate during 2021.
Since 1995, sales of Endangered Resources license plates have played a critical role in funding DNR conservation work for more than 400 wildlife species and 300 plant species listed as endangered, threatened or special concern. Wisconsinâs Endangered Resources Program works to identify, protect and manage native plants, animals and Wisconsinâs natural communities from the common to the critically endangered.
Warmer temps prompt caution for pavement buckling
The weather is warming up and that can create conditions for pavement buckling. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is asking drivers to take extra caution on the roadways.
According to a news release from the WisDOT, pavement can buckle when the weather quickly goes from cool to very hot. This causes slabs of pavement to expand and push against one another. If the pressure becomes great enough, the pavement can buckle and create unexpected bumps or dips.
While it’s difficult to predict if or where buckling may occur, here are some tips:
