The Wisconsin Center, the site of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, hosts hundreds of events each year, including corporate conventions, Anime gatherings, large-scale sports competitions, religious events, celebrations, ceremonies, and everything in between – oftentimes simultaneously. With nearly 500,000 guests annually and conferences becoming increasingly reliant on wireless internet, the Wisconsin Center needed reliable and secure network connectivity to provide its visitors and customers with the best possible experience.

A highly-visible property at a busy Walker’s Point intersection was sold last week for $925,000.

Michael Sanfelippo acquired the two-story building at 107 E. National Ave. Sanfelippo already has a number of real estate holdings in the neighborhood, acquired to facilitate the family taxicab business American United. The company is based out of an office building a block northwest at 646 S. 2nd St., it also owns the adjacent gas station.

MILWAUKEE â For the first time in nearly a year, the Wisconsin Center set up for a public ticketed event.
Hosting this weekend s volleyball tournament is a step forward following a year that the center s president and CEO Marty Brooks said resulted in a loss of about $25 million and threw staff into uncertainty. Most of that is attributable to the loss of the hotel, food, and beverage taxes that we otherwise receive. Because of the downturn in business, those industries were decimated as we are we, said Brooks.
Wisconsin Center ready to host first non-government event since start of pandemic
There’s another sign of some normalcy for downtown Milwaukee as the COVID-19 pandemic enters its second year. The Wisconsin Center will welcome its first non-government group into the building since March of 2020.
This weekend, March 6 and 7, the Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Club will be holding tournaments in the exhibit hall. Additional tournaments will take place the other three weekends in March hosted by the Badger Region Volleyball Association.
“This is a major milestone and will give us a glimpse into the future of large gatherings,” says Marty Brooks, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Center District. “I’m proud of the hard work our team has put in to allow us to welcome youth sports back at the Wisconsin Center.
