Summary: When questioned about Taylor Greene, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that “Loony lies and conspiracy theories are cancer for the Republican Party and our country.” What a pity that needed saying, but it happens to be true.

RACINE â âShort-sightedâ is how some conservatives and organizations that support workers with disabilities are describing the proposal to raise the minimum wage for all Americans to at least $15 and eliminate the provision that allows certain groups of people, including adults with intellectual disabilities, to be paid less than minimum wage.
Subminimum pay
Joe Greene, executive director of Racineâs Careers Industries, said âin my perfect world Iâd pay everybody $15-plus,â but he doesnât see that as a possibility in this imperfect world.

TEXAS â U.S. Representative, Ron Wright, of the 6th Congressional District, has passed away.
As reported by the Texas Tribune, Wright had lived with cancer for years and was diagnosed with COVID-19 back in Jan. Wright was 67.
The 6th Congressional District includes Arlington and other parts of Tarrant County; this area also stretches into the rural areas south of North Texas, including Waxahachie and Corsicana.
“Joe Biden,” a Politico headline blared on April 6, 2021, “is not planning to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” This may.
But to acknowledge the failure of the Republicans and the dismal political context that made it inevitable should not blind us to the hypocrisy of their opponents in this debate. Democrats can’t be blamed for seeking to embarrass their opponents by making an issue of the way the GOP has winked at Taylor Greene’s faults. Still, their arrogant and disingenuous refusal to acknowledge that they did much the same thing in 2019 is just as indefensible as McCarthy’s efforts to evade his responsibility to act.
