House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Wednesday gave a clear-cut condemnation of embattled Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) past comments but accused House Democrats of dismissing his leadership in pursuit of unproductive action against the freshman congresswoman.
McCarthy said in a statement that he met with Greene and expressed to her “unequivocally” that he condemns views she espoused prior to joining Congress, including about school shootings, political violence, and antisemitic conspiracy theories. The GOP leader said Greene was receptive and that he intends to hold her accountable now that she is under his purview in the House.

Meghan McCain, co-host of the ABC television show
The View and daughter of the late Arizona Senator John McCain, said Wednesday that the GOP was on a hell of a path after House Republicans met concerning the political fates of Wyoming Republican Representative Liz Cheney and Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Cheney voted in favor of the second impeachment of President Donald Trump, leading some Republicans to call for her removal as House Republican Conference Chair. Greene had come under fire for statements made before she was elected in which she appeared to support QAnon-related conspiracy theories.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, referring to his party affiliation as "(Q-CA)" in an apparent reference to the QAnon conspiracy theory.
