Talks are continuing this week in hope of reaching a bipartisan police reform package.
House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn made a significant move toward compromise over the weekend, saying on CNN Sunday that Democrats should be willing to accept a deal even if it does not include an end to qualified immunity, the legal doctrine that largely shields police officers from liability.

The withdrawal of the remaining US and NATO troops from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021, without any framework for the intra-Afghan dialogue and its finalisation has caused quite an anguish not only in the region but also amongst many American leaders. Such concerns are not new; many analysts had also discussed the situation in Afghanistan after NATO’s drawdown of troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2014, by painting different scenarios as a consequence.

American soldiers posed for photos last week with a Somali leader after the Biden administration said it had withdrawn U.S. forces from the war-torn country.
Jubaland president Ahmed Madobe posted photos showing him flanked by three U.S. troops on May 4. The caption identifies the soldiers as members of the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) deployed in the state, which is in the southern tip of Somalia.
