PENNSAUKEN The calico cat greeted a visitor to Almost Home Animal Shelter with a loud meow! from its crate, separated from other felines by a room but still making its presence known.
The shelter s front office was in disarray, but that s to be expected, given the shelter s looming deadline to vacate the rented space in an industrial building just off Route 130 in Pennsauken.
Nancy Welsh, the shelter s founder, apologized for the chaos, but she and the shelter s small staff and volunteers have been concentrating less on organization and more on finding homes for the cats and dogs in their care.

The Simon & Garfunkel Story Weymouth Pavilion has announced its first show in front of live audiences once doors can reopen amid the easing of Covid restrictions – a socially distance performance of The Simon and Garfunkel Story Unplugged. Creators of the critically acclaimed show have created a ‘virus safe’ unplugged version of the production to perform, which will be staged at the venue on Friday, May 21. Additional hygiene and safety measures will be in place at the theatre to ensure audience members feel comfortable and safe. The show chronicles the story of two young boys from Queens, New York, who went on to become the world’s most successful music duo of all time.
Though you ll find a few unintentional stinkers in the craft beer world, few breweries actually set out to brew a pretty bad beer.
That s exactly what New Belgium did with Torched Earth Ale, a smoky bitter brew released in limited quantities. Why would a brewery do that? To illustrate the unpalatable effects of climate change on the food and drink we consume. Tinged by smoke and made with drought resistant grains, this beer is warning that continued climate action will have devastating consequences, New Belgium CEO Steve Fechheimer wrote in an op-ed calling on businesses to take action on climate change.

After year one of going viral, Mat and Savanna Shaw had one major goal: do more in-person performances.
The Shaws, who grew in popularity at the start of the pandemic for their rendition of “The Prayer,” released a long string of covers on social media over the past year. And while they’re continuing to do so in 2021, they’re also embracing opportunities to sing live for people as COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift.
