A feasibility study is underway by the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board for a senior housing project in Little Current.
Board CAO Fern Dominelli says they have received nearly $657,000 to carry out the project.
He says with a waitlist of at least 22 senior citizens in Little Current, the Northeastern Manitoulin and the Island council believes the project is a good fit for a property donated by the late Lily Fielding in 2016.
DSAB has hired Housing Services Corporation to carry out the feasibility and environmental studies with results expected in early Spring.
