One of the big ensemble numbers in Nordhoff High School’s film, “The Theory of Relativity,” is called “Great Expectations.” It is about children of immigrants who are grateful, but nonetheless want to pursue their own dreams not the ones laid out for them by prior generations.

OXNARD, Calif. Ventura County is now vaccinating 12 to 15 year-olds in the area.
On Friday, Ventura County Public Health held a pop-up vaccine clinic at a local middle school, and there was a huge turnout. As I was driving up C Street and saw the line I was absolutely thrilled,” said Christine Walker, who is the Superintendent at Hueneme Elementary School District. “We are really happy about the turnout.”
The line to get vaccinated wrapped around E.O. Green Junior high school in Oxnard Friday. It was the second time the school hosted a pop up clinic, but the first where students could get the vaccine.

Ventura County residents looking to get a COVID-19 vaccine dose are invited to a student-organized vaccine clinic being held at Pacifica High School in Oxnard from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Students, in particular, are encouraged to attend the clinic planned by Pacifica seniors in the school s health science academy and Ventura County Public Health. Parental consent is required for those younger than 18 getting their shot.
The vaccine is not required at local high schools as of now. Oxnard Union High School District Superintendent Tom McCoy has previously said the district will provide information about vaccination sites, but will ultimately leave the decision up to students and parents.
Ventura County resumes administering J&J COVID vaccines
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - The County of Ventura announced that it will resume distributing the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine after the CDC and FDA agreed to lift the pause on the vaccine on Friday.
This decision came after the CDC’s independent Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices reviewed data related to recent reports of a rare and serious type of blood clot that some people experienced after receiving the vaccine. Based on their review of all available data, both the CDC and the FDA determined that the vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19.
