An Oxnard woman was stabbed to death Friday night in what police are calling a domestic violence homicide.
The incident unfolded around 9:55 p.m. at a home on the 1100 block of West Hemlock Street, the Oxnard Police Department reported. The site is in the Bartolo Square North neighborhood, generally southeast of Wooley and Ventura roads.
Officers found Karla Novela Cabrera, 27, inside the house with multiple stab wounds, mostly in the upper torso, Cmdr. Luis McArthur said. Family members, including Cabrera s two children, both under 10, were eyewitnesses, McArthur said. Cabrera was taken by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center where she later died.

Firefighters launched a rescue operation in Upper Ojai Sunday afternoon after a motorcycle crash sent a rider off the road along the Dennison Grade.
The accident was reported around 2 p.m. on Highway 150, also known as Ojai Road, south of Dennison Park, according to Ventura County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol reports. The incident took place near the Lion Canyon Creek bridge, reports showed.
Firefighters at the scene said the rider was about 20 feet vertically down over the side of the bridge, radio traffic indicated. A Ventura County Sheriff s helicopter responded for a possible hoist rescue.
As of about 2:30 p.m., crews at the scene said they needed to shut the highway in both directions for the rescue. Firefighters said the patient would be transported to the hospital by air.
