1/1 A MAN is due to appear in court in connection with causing a crash resulting in serious injuries near Bridport. A collision occurred at around 9.30am on November 15 last year on the B3157 Coast Road, near to the junction of Cogden Beach car park, Burton Bradstock. It involved a Citroen Berlingo and a Ford Focus. A passenger in the Citroen, a woman aged in her 70s, and the two occupants of the Ford – both Weymouth women aged in their 20s – were taken to hospital via an air ambulance with serious injuries. The casualties were cut free from vehicles by the fire service as all three emergency services and the air ambulance attended the incident.
A PORSCHE driver claimed he was unaware of the layout of the A35 in West Dorset after he was caught overtaking two vehicles after the lanes had already merged. Aaron Childs was behind the wheel of a black Porsche as he drove eastbound on the A35 Bridport Bypass towards Weymouth at 6.16pm on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Dashcam footage, taken by a motorist, showed the sunny and dry conditions on the A35 and the road merging from two lanes into one lane. It then shows Child’s black Porsche overtaking two vehicles on the solid white lines and manoeuvring left to complete the overtake.
