VSP updates wrong-way driver crash with multiple injuries in Dummerston

Mon, 12/14/2020 - 5:30pm tim Vermont State Police Investigators have developed additional information about this incident: Responding to a 911 call reporting the wrong-way driver on the interstate, Vermont State Police Trooper Ryan Miller stopped his fully marked state police Ford Explorer cruiser, with lights and siren activated, blocking part of the northbound travel lane of I-91 in the area of mile marker 18. The vehicle traveling south in the northbound lane subsequently struck the cruiser, which sustained only minor damage. Trooper Miller was uninjured. He then crossed to the southbound lanes and continued to follow the wrong-way driver on the other side of the highway. (See details below)

Woman arrested in fatal stabbing in Randolph December 13, 2020 GMT RANDOLPH, Vt. (AP) A 29-year-old woman faces charges in the Saturday killing of the man she lived with in Randolph, Vermont State Police said. Victoria Griffin was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the death of 44-year-old Concepcion Cruz, police said on Sunday. Griffin is accused of fatally stabbing Cruz in their home on Park Street. Police said the two were in a relationship and that four children were in the home during when Cruz was stabbed. The children were not injured and are now in the care of relatives, police said.

Vermont State Police arrests suspect in Randolph homicide

Sun, 12/13/2020 - 10:02pm tim Vermont State Police Following further investigation, the Vermont State Police has arrested Victoria Griffin, 29, of Randolph on suspicion of second-degree murder related to a stabbing that occurred Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. The victim is identified as Concepcion Cruz, 44, of Randolph. Cruz and Griffin were in a relationship and lived in the Park Street home where the incident occurred. Four children related to Cruz and Griffin between the ages of 12 and 16 were in the home when the stabbing took place. They were uninjured and are now in the care of relatives. An autopsy Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington determined the cause of Cruz’s death was a stab wound to the upper torso, and the manner of death was homicide.
