Paige VanZant vs Rachael Ostovich rematch booked for BKFC 19 on July 23

Paige VanZant will welcome Rachael Ostovich to the bareknuckle arena when the two former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweights collide at BKFC 19 on July 23, 2021.
VanZant submitted Ostovich at UFC Fight Night 143 back in Jan. 2019, which turned out to be “12 Gauge’s” last win inside the Octagon. She parted ways with UFC following her loss to Amanda Ribas at UFC 251. The former UFC “it” girl eventually made her way to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), but dropped her debut to Britain Hart back in February of this year (video replay here). Undeterred, VanZant vowed to keep on trucking and is now looking for her first win with the promotion while trying to go up 2-0 on Ostovich.

VanZant made her BKFC debut back in February against Britain Hart where she suffered a decision loss. After the fight, David Feldman said they would be signing a big name to face VanZant and many thought it would be Ostovich once she signed with the promotion. The 27-year-old is 8-5 in MMA and suffered a submission loss to Amanda Ribas at UFC 251 in the final fight of her UFC contract. Inside the Octagon, she fought the likes of Rose Namajunas, Michelle Waterson, and Felice Herrig among others.
Ostovich is just 4-6 in MMA and went 1-3 in the UFC including the loss to VanZant. She did fight in Invicta FC prior to getting the shot where she was 3-3 where she fought the likes of Andrea Lee, Christine Ferea, and Jenny Liou Shriver. She earned her way into the UFC after competing on TUF where she went 1-1 on the show as she beat Melinda Fabian by submission and lost a decision to Barb Honchak. This

Former UFC flyweights, Paige VanZant and Rachael Ostovich will renew their rivalry in July this year at a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship event with the two re-running their UFC Fight Night Brooklyn clash from January of 2019.
Headlining the July 23. event, billed BKFC 19, which has yet to secure a location or venue, VanZant looks to improve to 2-0 against Hawaii’s Ostovich, as well as secure her first win over the David Feldman-led banner. For Ostovich, the 30-year-old will make her organizational bow after she put pen to paper on a deal with the promotion back in April.
