Man arrested after bus driver calls police due to disorderly behaviour on Anglesey

A MAN was arrested after an emergency worker was assaulted in Menai Bridge on Monday morning. North Wales Police was called to the incident on Dale Street after being called by a bus driver to report an incident of disorderly behaviour on public transport at about 9.30am. Officers attended and a male was arrested for a public order offence and also assaulting an emergency worker, police said. During the arrest, an officer had cause to activate their emergency assistance button located on their equipment due to receiving a head injury due to being assaulted. Officers also has cause to assist with a separate medical emergency whilst dealing with the disorder.

Welsh Ambulance Service commends military’s contribution to Covid-19 effort The Welsh Ambulance Service has extended a thanks to the Armed Forces for its support through the Coronavirus pandemic. More than 200 British Army soldiers assisted the Trust’s Covid-19 effort by driving and decontaminating ambulance vehicles as part of Operation Rescript. Among them were 90 soldiers from 9 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, who were enlisted on Christmas Eve at the height of the  second wave of the pandemic. Today, the Trust presented a commemorative plaque to Brigadier Andrew Dawes CBE, the commander for military support in Wales, as a token of its appreciation.

More than 200 soldiers from the British Army assisted the trust by driving and decontaminating ambulance vehicles as part of their Operation Rescript. The first teams were deployed in April last year after intense training at Sennybridge, with more teams in the summer and Christmas. Ninety of the soldiers from 9 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps were enlisted on Christmas Eve during the height of the pandemic’s second wave. Over the course of the pandemic, more than 100 Army personnel have been deployed as ambulance crews, assisting with more than 12,000 callouts across Wales.
