Cuba reaffirms commitment to fight against discrimination
United Nations, Feb 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reaffirmed on Thursday to the United Nations his country s commitment to fight against all manifestations of racial discrimination, which is part of the principles that sustain the Revolution.
In his online speech in a special session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the minister recalled how since the revolutionary triumph in January 1959, a process of radical transformations started in Cuba that dealt a devastating blow to the structural bases of racism.
In that way, the FM added, institutionalized racial discrimination was eradicated and today Cuba shows significant progress and results in the fight against racism although there is still work to be done.
