Radovan Karadzic, the notorious Serbian warlord, is being transferred to a British jail to serve out the rest of his life sentence for genocide and crimes against humanity.
Karadzic, 75, will be held at a secret location in a high security prison to protect him from reprisal attacks. He was found guilty of war crimes including the massacre in 1995 of 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica in what is widely regarded as the worst atrocity committed on European soil since the end of the Second World war.
World powers call for calm after Israel unrest

JERUSALEM, May 11, 2021 (BSS/AFP) – Reactions poured in from around the world on Monday after violence sparked by days of unrest at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound, with Israel launching deadly air strikes on Gaza in response to a barrage of rockets fired by the Hamas.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged both Israel and the Palestinians to lower tensions.
“All sides need to de-escalate, reduce tensions, take practical steps to calm things down,” Blinken said as he met his Jordanian counterpart in Washington.
Blinken strongly condemned the rocket fire by Hamas, saying they “need to stop immediately”, and backed Israel’s right to respond.
