The United Nations Security Council will meet on Thursday to discuss upcoming Palestinian elections and to address the issue of Israel preventing residents in occupied East Jerusalem from voting.
Other issues expected to be discussed include Israeli violations of international law, illegal settlements, and the annexation of Palestinian land.
Speaking to
Voice of Palestine radio, Riyad Mansour, Permanent Representative of Palestine to the UN, said that the session is vital to highlight Israel s breaches of UN resolutions and international law.
PM Zaev Pays Official Visit to Luxembourg
PM Zoran Zaev paid an official visit to Luxembourg on Monday afternoon, where he held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn. At the meeting, Asselborn voiced full support on behalf of Luxembourg for the integration of Macedonia in the EU.
“We are very thankful for the warm welcome, as well as for your support for our accession in the EU. I am glad I had the chance to meet some old friends here, like former MEP Knut Fleckenstein, with whom I had a fruitful discussion about the European future of my country,” Zaev wrote on Facebook. PM Zaev and Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi are paying a two-day visit to Luxembourg, where they also attended a business meeting of the European Investment Bank (EIB), where they discussed possibilities for further investments by EIB to Macedonia, especially in the field of public healthcare for dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
