Doha [Qatar], May 17 (ANI/Sputnik): Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani has held phone talks with US State Secretary Antony Blinken to discuss the recent armed hostilities around the Gaza Strip, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday. HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani received today a phone call from HE Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken. During the call, they discussed the recent Israeli attacks on worshipers at the Al Aqsa Compound and the attack on the besieged Gaza Strip, the ministry said in a statement.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani received today a phone call from HE Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken. During the call, they discussed the recent Israeli attacks on worshipers at the Al Aqsa Compound and the attack on the besieged Gaza Strip, the ministry said in a statement.
“They are one of the few countries in the region that have the ability to talk to the Houthis and we made clear that it is time for them to press the Houthis to declare a ceasefire,” he said on Monday.
The US State Department rebuked the Houthis for their refusal to meet UN Yemen envoy Martin Griffiths in Muscat last week.
It said the rebels “passed up a major opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to peace .
“The Saudis have put forward a serious offer and it is now time for the Houthis to do their part,” said Mr Murphy, a frequent critic of US assistance for the Saudi-led coalition fighting to reinstate the internationally recognised Yemeni government.

Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met on Monday with HH Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, who is visiting the country.
During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and the strengthening of the march of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, in addition to the latest developments in the region.
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed, during the meeting, the State of Qatar s full support for all measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to combat drug trafficking in all its forms.
