Los ging es mit Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier (65), der im Katastrophengebiet kondolierte. Hinter ihm albert Armin Laschet (60, CDU) herum, als sei der NRW-Regierungschef im Karneval und nicht in der Todeszone der Flut.
Passiert an diesem Samstag im Rhein-Erft-Kreis, wo sich Steinmeier ein Bild von der grausigen Situation machte.
Steinmeier redet von den Menschen, die Angehörige „verloren haben, die große Verluste erlitten haben“, dass „ihnen Hilfe zuteilwerden soll“ und Laschet feixt und lacht im Hintergrund mit der Entourage. Beugt sich vor, gackert, macht offensichtlich Scherze.

BERLIN: Rescue workers laboured to deal with damage laid bare by receding water on Saturday as the death toll from disastrous flooding in Western Europe rose above 160 and thoughts turned to the lengthy job of rebuilding communities devastated in minutes.
The death toll in western Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate state, home to the badly hit Ahrweiler county, rose to 98. Another 43 people were confirmed dead in neighbouring North Rhine-Westphalia state. Belgium’s national crisis center said the country’s confirmed death toll rose to 27.

Residents in regions of Germany and Belgium worst-affected by recent floods have begun the huge task of clearing their neighbourhoods, as the waters begin to recede.
The scale of the damage is becoming clear, as rescue crews continue to look for victims.
At least 170 people have died, and with many still missing the death toll could rise further.
And there are fears that a dam weakened by the floods could burst.
Inspectors say large parts of the Steinbachtal dam, south-west of the German city of Bonn, have come away leaving it extremely unstable.

Ya son al menos 170 los fallecidos confirmados por las inundaciones de esta semana en Alemania, que acapara la mayor parte de decesos, con 143, según las últimas estimaciones de ayer sábado, y Bélgica, cuyo último balance de hoy eleva los fallecidos a 27.
