New Delhi [India], December 24 (ANI): India and South Korea on Wednesday held consultations on issues related to bilateral cooperation and international issues of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation, COVID-19 response and coordination in multilateral forums.
Riva Ganguly Das, Secretary (East), MEA and South Korea s First Vice Foreign Minister Choi Jong-kun held consultations through video conference.
An External Affairs Ministry release said that the two sides agreed to further strengthen the high-level exchanges in 2021 and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, including the areas of defence and in particular on enhancing defence industry cooperation.

BSF, BGB DG level talks gets underway in Guwahati
New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) The 51st round of Director General level border coordination meeting between Border Security Force (India) and Border Guard Bangladesh began in Guwahati on Tuesday.
While a 12-member Indian delegation is being represented by BSF DG Rakesh Asthana, BGB DG Major General Md Shafeenul Islam is heading the 11- member BGB team.
The five-day talk from December 22- 26, will deliberate on discussing border related issues, and to enable better coordination between the two border guarding forces with special focus on addressing and streamlining mechanisms on how to jointly curb various trans-border crimes and timely sharing of information between both border guarding forces.

As per reports, the meeting is said to conclude with the signing of a Joint Record of Discussions by both the Directors’ General of BSF and BGB.
India and Bangladesh on Tuesday kick-started the 51st Director-General Level Border Coordination Conference 2020. This is the first time that the Director-General Level talks between the two Border Guarding Forces (BGF) is being held in Guwahati, Assam.
The Indian BSF delegation is being led by DG BSF Rakesh Asthana, IPS while the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) led by the DG BGB Maj Gen Shafeenul Islam, BGBM (BAR) ndc, psc. Officials of the Indian Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry will also be present from India s side. While Bangladesh would additionally be represented by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Home Ministry, and Foreign Ministry.
