Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls upon BIMSTEC countries to tackle Covid-19 pandemic unitedly FILE PIC Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the enhanced regional cooperation amongst BIMSTEC member countries and called for a united flight to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation also known as BIMSTEC is a sub-regional grouping comprising Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. In his message, the Prime Minister acknowledged the progress made by the grouping on several fronts in recent years. He stressed the need to continue to work together in the fight against the pandemic. Mr Modi said, BIMSTEC Day was marked amidst a difficult phase of the COVID pandemic. He said, it is an unprecedented challenge and a testing time for all.

On Wednesday, (June 9, 2021) External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar is going to visit Kuwait, will carry a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the bilateral relations between the two countries. Confirming this to Financial Express Online, the ambassador of Kuwait to India, Jasem Al Najem said, The official visit of the External Affair Minister Dr S Jaishankar to the State of Kuwait on Wednesday comes in the course of continuous efforts between the officials of the two friendly countries to strengthen the already strong and solid bilateral relations and push them towards better levels.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will visit Kuwait next week. The visit comes in the backdrop of the country reaching out to India amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic with assistance. Infact,  India and Kuwait established a maritime bridge for transport of medical oxygen and oxygen carrying equipment. The bridge saw Indian Navy ships bringing key supplies under its Operation Samudra Setu II.
