EAM S Jaishankar to arrive in Dhaka on Thursday ahead of PM Narendra Modi s Bangladesh visit

Highlights This comes ahead of PM Modi s Bangladesh visit. New Delhi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar will be visiting Dhaka on Thursday (March 4, 2021) to finalize the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh later this month. During the visit, S Jaishankar will call on Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina and will also hold talks with Bangladesh s Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen. External Affairs Ministry in a release said, ​At the invitation of AK Abdul Momen, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Dhaka on March 4, 2021. Prime Minister Modi will be visiting the country on March 26 for Bangladesh s 50th Independence Day celebration. This will be his first visit abroad in more than a year. 

India-Madagascar FMs speak; New Delhi to send 1000 tonnes rice and malaria medicines

Reaching out to Madagascar yet again, India will be sending 1000 tonnes of rice and malaria medicine to the Indian Ocean island country. Southern Madagascar has been impacted by devastating famine and according to a November 2020 report by the World Food Programme, families are forced to eat insects. India's External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar had assured supplies to the foreign minister of Madagascar Tehindrazanarivelo Liva during the telephonic talks on Monday.
