Strategic Dialogue: India & Oman to pursue slew of pacts for future-oriented partnership

This was the first high-level official visit from Oman to India since the onset of Covid-19. Both sides expressed satisfaction that despite the Covid-19 pandemic both sides have kept in close touch and sustained momentum in further consolidation of their strategic relationship. India assured assistance to Oman in its requirement for Covid-19 vaccines, officials said following the meet.
India and its oldest strategic partner in West Asia Oman on Thursday decided to pursue pacts in political, energy, trade, investment, defence, security, space, mining, S&T, culture and consular fields for a future-oriented partnership. This was decided at a meeting of the India-Oman Strategic Consultative Group (IOSCG) held here physically. The Indian delegation was led by Sanjay Bhattacharya, Secretary (CPV&OIA), MEA while the Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali

New Delhi: In a subtle message ahead of the Nepal Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali s visit to India for the India-Nepal Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) on Friday, Delhi has made it clear that boundary issues will not be discussed.
Gyawali arrived in the national capital on Thursday on a three-day visit during which he will co-chair the JCM with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and is expected to discuss COVID-19-related cooperation while reviewing the entire gamut of bilateral relations.

New Delhi [India], January 14 (ANI): A meeting of the India-OmanStrategic Consultative Group (IOSCG) was held physically on Thursday, wherein both sides participated in bilateral discussions pertaining to many issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to an official release by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), during the IOSCG both sides reviewed the entire spectrum of the India-Oman relationship including in political, energy, trade, investment, defence, security, space, mining, S&T, culture and consular fields. It was agreed that the two sides will pursue various agreements and MOUs in these areas for a future-oriented relationship.
