LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mohammad Qasim Khan on Wednesday lashed out at the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) for its involvement in “illegal” occupation of lands and regretted that the army seemed to have become the “biggest land grabber”.
The chief justice was hearing petitions of three citizens seeking an order against the DHA to not disturb their lawful possession of the land they had obtained on lease from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).

LAHORE: In a rare rebuke of Pakistan s powerful army, the Lahore high court has called it the country s “biggest land grabber and said its uniform is for the service to the nation and “not to rule as a king”.
Lahore high court (LHC) Chief Justice Mohammad Qasim Khan, during the hearing of a land grabbing case on Wednesday, said that he does not want to say anything wrong about the army, but the way it occupies the properties of people is nothing but land grabbing.

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan did not pay heed to the request of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to get expunged the remarks he had passed against the armed forces.
The CJ was hearing a matter wherein some petitioners claimed the DHA had occupied their land of over 100-kanal land.
They said that the DHA had already occupied over 300-kanal land which it had not transferred through “inteqal” after the judgement of the country’s top court.

The Defence Housing Authority s (DHA) counsel on Thursday asked the Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Mohammad Qasim Khan to expunge remarks made by the chief justice a day ago in which he termed the army as the “biggest land grabber”.
On Wednesday, the chief justice, while hearing petitions of three citizens seeking an order against the DHA to not disturb their lawful possession of the land they had obtained on lease from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), had lashed out at the DHA for its involvement in “illegal” occupation of lands and regretted that the army seemed to have become the “biggest land grabber”.

LAHORE: Hearing three petitions against the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Wednesday directed DHA Administrator Brigadier Waheed Gul Sati, commissioner and deputy commissioner of Lahore to appear before court today (Thursday).
The CJ also directed the Lahore CCPO to instruct all the SHOs to register FIRs on complaints of illegal occupation against the DHA.
Chief Justice Khan was hearing petitions of three citizens seeking an order against the DHA not to disturb their lawful possession of 300 to 400 kanals which they had obtained on lease from Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
