A new year means new fees.
In the City of Regina, utility fees will increase by three per cent, which was part of a three-year increase approved by council in 2018. The city says any other rate changes would be considered during budget talks in March.
For residents in Saskatoon, recycling fees will increase. The curbside program will have per-household fees up to $7.47. For multi-unit dwellings, the fee per household will be $3.86.
As well, the increase in the federal carbon tax will have residents paying more per kilowatt-hour, from 63 cents/kWh to 70 cents/kWh.
Saskatoon water and wastewater rates will increase by 3.9 per cent.
