Rochester works toward homelessness solutions during annual conference
The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless is looking at how communities are handling the COVID-19 pandemic when it comes to finding solutions to combat homelessness across the state.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless is looking at how communities are handling the COVID-19 pandemic when it comes to finding solutions to combat homelessness across the state.
It s part of a three day Homeless on the Hill virtual press conference.
Rochester Mayor Kim Norton participated in the event. She says the city is working on creative solutions by offering diverse solutions like the Southeast Regional Crisis Center that s currently being built in Olmsted County.
Numerous people donate items to nonprofit to help homeless population
The Landing raised over $8,000 and accepted dozens of donations for homeless people in Rochester.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Many people woke up early on Sunday to stop by Rochester residents Holly and Dan Fifield s home, to drop off donations for homeless people. The Fifield s are the founders and owners of The Landing, a nonprofit in Rochester that helps out homeless people. You ll hear from a lot of the folks that are experiencing homeless that they don t feel seen, explained Holly Fifield. They feel invisible, that people don t even know that they are there, and so to see this kind of response, let s them know that they are a valuable part of our community.
