May 9, 2021 BOARDMAN Mrs. Mary Catherine “Cathy” Denny Queen, wife of Harold W. Queen, entered into her eternal rest Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born in Vaucluse, S.C. on Oct. 27, 1928, the youngest of five daughters of Virgil and Mary Spires Denny. She was a graduate of Columbia High School, Columbia, S.C. and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. for a short time. Due to the serious illness of her father, she had to leave college. Previously, she worked at the Division of Teacher Education and Certification, State Department of Education as a file clerk and secretary. After her college experience, she returned to the Education Department to complete a six year stint.

Credit File Photo / WBFO News We started Tent of Abraham, where we invite people of all faiths, our neighbors to join us in breaking the fast,   said Dr. Khalid Qazi from the Muslim Public Affairs Council. The 15th annual Tent of Abraham will be hosted at the Muslim Community Center (Islamic Center) at 7 p.m. and is co-sponsored by Congregation Havurah, Islamic Society of Niagara Frontier, Network of Religious Communities, North Presbyterian Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Qazi said this year MPAC has created a COVID-cautious version, which typically involves a walk, donations to local food banks and a meal. This year, the walk will be socially distant, the meals boxed and masks worn except when eating.
