FRSC arrests 3,187 traffic offenders in Lagos
The FRSC boss says the offenders were arrested for allegedly committing 3,708 traffic offences between December 15, 2020, and January, 15.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Command, said it arrested at least 3,187 traffic offenders during its “30 days operation zero tolerance” in the state.
The Lagos Sector Commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.
He said the offenders were arrested for allegedly committing 3,708 traffic offences between Dec. 15, 2020, and Jan. 15.
Mr Ogungbemide added that officers of the command impounded 1,430 vehicles and confiscated 1,757 vehicles for failure to meet roadworthiness requirements during the period under review.

No fewer than 3,187 traffic offenders have been arrested by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Command.

According to him, a total of 46 road traffic crashes were recorded with five fatal accidents.

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, says, the corps has developed fresh plans to curb road accidents on the nation’s highways in 2021.
Oyeyemi said this at the first 2021 strategy session of Zonal commanding officer and sector commanders on zero tolerance to crashes in 2021 on Friday in Abuja.
He said that the measures would ensure that the country was free from any form of road crashes.
He noted that the corps would intensify its collaboration with other security agencies to collectively surmount the challenges.
He also said that the damage to the road infrastructure on newly constructed road arising from indiscriminate parking along the highways and other forms of acts of unauthorised access to the highways would be addressed.
Assistant Corps Marshal Adeleye, the Zonal Commanding Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Zone RS12, comprising the said states, stated this while monitoring the Mobile Court sittings going on within the Zone as part of an assessment of the ongoing Operation Zero Tolerance for Traffic Crashes 2020 (OZ-2020).
