New Delhi: Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project progress got another push as nine companies, including infrastructure major KEC International, Patel Infrastructure, and SCC-VRS (JV), have bid to undertake preparatory works for the Sabarmati maintenance depot of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (package C-8).
As per National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), total nine bidders have participated in the process and financial bids will be opened after the evaluation of the technical bids. The project cost is estimated to be around Rs 500 crore.
Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The Sabarmati depot will cover an area of approximately 84 hectare
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for executing the country s first bullet train project, invited technical bids for the construction of the Sabarmati maintenance depot for the Mumbai Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor. According to a statement shared by NHSRCL, the technical bids opened on Friday, February 19. A total of nine bidders participated in the process and the submitted bids will go through an evaluation process in the next stage. As per NHSRCL, training sessions have been initiated to train technicians who will be handling the consolidation and triaxial testing at the lab facility. Bullet train on fast track! Work for geotechnical lab testing begins for Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor 
New Delhi: Bullet train work in India is on fast track. Recently, work for detailed & comprehensive geotechnical laboratory testing began for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor. The base of L&T’s testing facility has been established in Surat.
Over there, training sessions have been initiated to train technicians who will be handling the consolidation and triaxial testing at the lab facility. As per NHSRCL, this process is in agreement with the national skill development mission and it also disseminates geotechnical investigation skills to engineers and technicians.

New Delhi [India], February 1 (ANI): Indian Railways now has the highest ever total planned capital expenditure of Rs. 2,15,058 crore this year with Rs 7,500 crore from internal resources, Rs 1,00,258 crore from extra-budgetary resources and Rs 1,07,100 crore for capital expenditure in the General Budget.
In a press release, the Ministry of Railways on Monday stated, Indian Railways received a record outlay of Rs 1,10,055 crore, of which Rs 1,07,100 crore is for capital expenditure in the Union Budget 2021-22 presented in the Parliament today.
The Gross Budgetary allocation is Rs. 37,050 crores (53 per cent) higher than the previous budget of 2020-21. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a remarkable vindication of the progress being made being undertaken infrastructure projects in Indian Railways.

L&T shares gained more than 2 per cent in a weak market after the infrastructure major bagged a contract worth Rs 1,390 crore from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) for procurement and fabrication of 28 steel bridges for crossing over railway lines, rivers, highways, road, and other structures for the Mumbai Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, as part of the country s first bullet train project.
