2020 Year in Review The pandemic led parishes to celebrate special liturgies, such as this Aug. 27 special Holy Hour at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish to pray for the health and wellbeing of the people who work on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Tyffani

LITE-FM s Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union.  A few days ago, we were reading through our newest Christmas Wish nominations when we stumbled across a story that felt really familiar. When we read Tyffani s children s names we knew exactly why! Earlier this spring while we were out on the birthday parade circuit, we got invited to Bella s sixth birthday parade. Her daddy had just been in a motorcycle accident and the only way she d been able to see him was over video chat. The motorcycle community rallied together for one of the biggest parades we d been part of. Someone also mentioned that Bella happened to be a big fan of Harley Quinn. LITE-FM happens to be very good friends with Harley, so we got her to tag along too.

Roy High fundraises to support teacher battling cancer

FARR WEST — “Holy crap,” muttered Chris Maag as he looked over the contents of an envelope Roy High School Principal Matt Williams left on his doorstep Monday afternoon. His wife, Angie Maag, teared up, speechless. “I don’t even know what to say. Please tell everyone how grateful we are.” Chris Maag, a history teacher at Roy High School, announced he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer in November. “2020 continues to throw wrinkles into our family’s experiences,” Maag said in a video posted to Facebook and sent to his students on Nov. 15. “I haven’t been at school because I had to go to the doctor and they told me I have cancer, and that sucks.”

Eagle Mountain boy leaves behind legacy of caring, service

Last year, at Christmastime, then-12-year-old Wyatt Page of Eagle Mountain knew that he would soon be passing away. However, rather than focusing on his own trials, Wyatt was busy worrying about how his parents would spend their time after he was gone and trying to make a difference in the lives of other children like him — children battling cancer. Wyatt passed away on Jan. 14, 2020, after battling ependymoma brain cancer. Twenty-two months before that, a tennis ball-sized tumor was found in his brain. During those 22 months, Wyatt underwent five surgeries and 96 radiation treatments. In September 2019, it was discovered that Wyatt’s cancer had metastasized.
