Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - After telecoms carriers conducted commercial 5G trials in big cities like
Ho Chi Minh City, many provinces
have sent recommendations to the Ministry of Information and Communications to
allow the carriers to deploy 5G in their urban areas, industrial zones and key
areas.
In a petition sent to the Ministry of Information and Communications, the
departments of information and communications of Phu Tho and Binh Phuoc provinces proposed the
ministry direct telecommunications businesses to deploy 5G in the provinces.

Hanoi (VNA) – Five major mobile
service providers - Viettel, VinaPhone, MobiFone, Vietnamobile, and the virtual
network I-Telecom blocked more than 89,600 mobile subscribers spreading spam
calls in the last six months of 2020, according to the Department of Telecom
under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
In December 2020 alone, the providers handled
17,290 subscribers, of which 7,844 by Viettel (45 percent), 7,301 by VinaPhone
(42 percent), 1,155 by MobiFone (7 percent), 868 by I-Telecom (5 percent), and
122 by Vietnamobile (1 percent).

Construction of the National Innovation Centre (NIC), worth VND740 billion ($32 million), will be launched at Hoa Lac hi-tech park on the outskirts of Hanoi on January 9.

The centre, covering an area of 35 hectares, is set up under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.1269/QD-TTg to support and develop the nation’s start-ups and innovation ecosystems, contributing to the growth models based on science and technology.
It is expected to house domestic and international innovative businesses, laboratories, offices of large corporations, as well as working place of leading experts and scientists.
