Woodcreek man dies of COVID-19; County tallies 110 new cases Monday

Monday, July 12, 2021 A Woodcreek man in his 80s recently died of COVID-19, the Hays County Local Health Department reported Monday.  Hays County has now seen 264 coronavirus-related fatalities since the pandemic’s onset.  The local health department reported over 100 new COVID-19 cases Monday for the first time since April 26. The county tallied 110 new lab-confirmed cases, 31 additional recoveries, 11 hospitalizations and four hospital discharges on Monday, which included information from July 10-12.  The county has 277 active cases 78 more than Friday and there have been 19,348 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within its boundaries on March 14, 2020. Hays County has tallied 359 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,124 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through July 12, 2021.

Michele DuPont The Hays County Local Health Department reports 47 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 37 recoveries July 9, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,238, total active cases to 199 and recoveries to 18,776. There have been a total of 263 COVID-19-related fatalities in the county since the start of the pandemic. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 280. San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 49, 86 and 34 active cases, respectively. According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 182,642. The total number of hospitalizations is 918 and total current hospitalizations is eight after one person was hospitalized and zero were discharged.

Hays County records 47 new COVID-19 cases, 37 recoveries Friday

Hays County’s active COVID-19 case count is on a slow trickle upward.  The Hays County Local Health Department reported 47 new COVID-19 cases Friday alongside 37 recoveries, pushing its current active cases to 199 10 more than Wednesday. The county saw its lowest active count this year at 125 during its June 8-9 report.  The county has recorded 19,238 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within its boundaries on March 14, 2020. Hays County has tallied 280 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,112 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through July 7, 2021. The local health department also reported one additional hospitalization Friday. Eight county residents are currently hospitalized by COVID-19 and there have been 918 total hospitalizations. Some patients hospitalized by COVID-19 are in hospitals outside of Hays County but are included in the county’s numbers if they reside within Hays County, the local health department said.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 38, 77 and 36 active cases, respectively. According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 182,051. The total number of hospitalizations is 917 and total current hospitalizations is seven after two people were hospitalized and one was discharged.

Wednesday, July 7, 2021 A Woodcreek man in his 70s recently died of COVID-19, the Hays County Local Health Department reported Wednesday.  Hays County has now seen 263 coronavirus-related fatalities since the pandemic’s onset.  The local health department also recorded 56 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases and 43 additional recoveries with two new hospitalizations and one new hospital discharge on Wednesday, which included information from July 3-7. The county considers 189 cases active 12 more than Friday and there have been 19,192 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within its boundaries on March 14, 2020. Hays County has tallied 250 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,112 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through July 7, 2021.
