Woman vandalized Dripping Springs City Hall, Hays County deputies say

Hays County authorities have arrested a woman who they say vandalized the Dripping Springs City Hall on Wednesday morning.  Sheriff’s deputies responded to City Hall, 511 West Mercer Street, on Wednesday morning after someone reported graffiti with vulgar language and the word “racists” written in red spray paint on the front of the building as well as a broken window.   Video captured by a surveillance system was sent out on social media by Dripping Springs employees and the Hays County sheriff’s office that led authorities to identify the suspect as 26-year-old Bonnie Laurel Gibson, police said.  According to a news release, Hays County authorities discovered paint on Gibson s hands and inside and outside her vehicle that matched the color of the spray paint graffiti.

Thursday, March 11, 2021 A Dripping Springs woman was arrested following a graffiti incident at Dripping Springs City Hall early Wednesday morning.  Bonnie Laurel Gibson, 26, was arrested after investigators found her with paint on her hands, which matched the color of the graffiti on the city hall building, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said.  “We want to thank the sheriff’s team for taking such quick action,” Dripping Springs Mayor Bill Foulds Jr. said. “We also want to thank the citizens of Dripping Springs for the outpouring of help. Hays County Sheriff s Office searching for vandalizing suspect at Dripping Springs City Hall

Wednesday, March 10, 2021 The Hays County Sheriff’s Department is on the lookout for the individual who broke into the Dripping Springs City Hall and vandalized the facility. On March 10, an unknown assailant broke a window at city hall, and spray-painted graffiti on the exterior walls. The above surveillance photo shows the extent of the damage and reveals the person allegedly committing the crime as a young white female according to law enforcement.
