Prospective candidates from each party were invited last week to the AAA Live studio in Merstone to deliver the essence of their vision for the Island over the coming years. The punchy videos (see below) are being shared widely across social media and the studios are run by Technical Director at AAA Live, Martin Hall.

Three Isle of Wight 2021 election candidates were unexpectedly reunited when a Green Party Zoom call for candidates revealed that they had already met – over twenty years ago at school.
Claire Critchison (Chale, Niton and Shorwell) and Jaimie Bundell (Newport West) were pleased to discover that David Moorse (Shanklin Central) – better known as Mr Moorse to an estimated 4,000 Island children through the years – was also standing for election to the Isle of Wight Council on Thursday 6th May.
IW Conservatives are trying to frame the upcoming election as generally them vs Labour. Is that accurate? (updated)
In 28 of the 39 wards, the Conservatives say the only choice in the election is them versus Labour. The leaders of other parties have this to say about that claim
During the 2019 General Election the message that came from Island Conservatives was that the only choice for voters was Conservative versus Labour.
A year or so later this message has appeared again, this time in the 2021 Isle of Wight council elections.

Isle Of Wight Green Party Called "Leftists" As Election Signs Are Vandalised
By Iona Stewart-Richardson

The Isle of Wight Green Party have been called 'leftists' and been accused of 'spouting off online' - in the same week that their election signs have been vandalised and destroyed.
The party also says an ‘anonymous note’ posted through the door of a county council candidate is ‘more concerning’ though.
It said:
‘As you know we voted overwhelmingly in the last election for a conservative government and to get Brexit Done and we don't want to be rude but your politics are not really welcome here [SIC].’
Government pledge to cut carbon emissions should include ban on all fossil fuel extraction
As well as cutting carbon emissions by 78% in the next 15 years, the Government should also ban fossil fuel extraction, including on the Isle of Wight, say the Green Party
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, yesterday (Tuesday) announced they would toughen its targets on greenhouse gas emissions for the next 15 years.
The Isle of Wight Green Party cautiously welcome plans to cut carbon emissions by 78% in the next 15 years, but demand that this policy immediately extends to a national moratorium on all fossil fuel extraction – including stopping oil drilling on the Isle of Wight.
All except one spoke of their support for the campaign. Isle of Wight Labour's Richard Quigley and Our Island's Jonathan Bacon both said that they did not think the school should close. Nick Stewart, for the Liberal Democrats, called the threatened closure "devastating and unnecessary." The Isle of Wight Green Party's Vix Lowthion and the leader of the Island Independents coalition, Cllr Debbie Andre, both called for more to be done to support struggling rural areas. Cllr Andre said: "We fully support the efforts that are being made by Chillerton and Gatcombe Parish Council and local residents to establish a new governing body for the school and to promote the school in a positive light, to increase the uptake of places and secure the future of the school for generations to come."
