A traffic stop Saturday morning by the Williamsburg Police Department resulted in the arrest of a Williamsburg man on drug-related charges.
Officer Dorman Patrick Jr. arrested Ricky L. Siler, 49, on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (opiates), driving on a DUI suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, no auto insurance and failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle.
The traffic stop of the green 2001 Ford Focus took place about 9:19 a.m. at the intersection of Cane Creek Road and South US25W after Patrick ran the registration plate of the vehicle, which came back as the insurance being unconfirmed, Patrick wrote on the arrest citation.

The Williamsburg Police Department says officers arrested two men after investigating a parked car on 1st Street. During the investigation, they found meth and marijuana. Police say Jason Shelton and Jamie Boyce were also under the influence. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and public intoxication. Shelton and Boyce were both lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

The Corbin Police Department says they’ve arrested a man connected to break-in attempts at three local convenience stores. Corbin Police Lt. Coy Wilson, the department’s public affairs officer, said 19-year-old Jerrad L. Gilbert is charged with burglary and criminal mischief after incidents at A to Z Mart on South Main Street, the Sunoco gas station on 18th Street near Corbin High School, and Corbin Tobacco 2 at the intersection of South Main and South Kentucky Ave. Police found windows busted out at each location, but no one at the scene. After investigating and reviewing surveillance footage police arrested Gilbert, who was riding a bicycle on U.S. 25W near Wallen’s Towing. Police searched his mother’s home on Kentucky Ave. and found clothes he was wearing in the security videos and items taken from the break ins. Gilbert was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Courtney Taylor, who is serving three sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2017 killings of her husband and two teenage daughters, has gotten her wish and was been transferred out of the Whitley County Detention Center about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
On Feb. 19, 2020, Courtney Taylor, 45, entered an Alford plea to three counts of capital murder in the Jan 13, 2017, shooting deaths of her husband, Larry Taylor, 56, and her two daughters, Jesse Taylor, 18, and Jolee Taylor, 13.
An Alford plea means that a defendant still maintains their innocence but acknowledges that prosecutors likely have enough evidence to convict them at trial.
A Corbin man was arrested early Thursday morning following and investigation into break-in attempts at three local convenience stores.
Corbin Police have charged Jerrad L. Gilbert, 19, with one count of third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal mischief in connection with the incidents at A to Z Mart on South Main Street, the Sunoco gas station on 18
th Street near Corbin High School, and the tobacco store at the intersection of South Main and South Kentucky Ave.
Corbin Police Lt. Coy Wilson, the department’s public affairs officer, said at approximately 1 a.m., police received reports of activated burglar alarms from A to Z Mart and Sunoco.
