DEME Offshore has completed inter-array cabling at the 950MW Moray East offshore wind farm off Scotland.
The work at the site off the east coast was carried out by the cable laying vessel Living Stone (
pictured).
DEME also completed installation of all 103 jacket foundations for the 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines and three offshore substations for the project at the end of 2020.

Offshore windfarm Borssele III&IV, located in the North Sea off the Dutch coast, is now fully operational, the Blauwwind consortium of shareholders announced during an online ceremony on 18 February. The construction of the 731.5 MW wind farm, with a total of 77 V164-9.5 MW turbines produced by Vestas, was completed on-time, with official commissioning on 6 January 2021.
“This is a great achievement of everybody involved”, said Roeland Borsboom, project director and Chief Executive Officer for Blauwwind. “In difficult circumstances, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were still able to construct the windfarm at a swift pace, without noteworthy problems or incidents. The work was carried our by Seajacks Scylla from the staging port of Nigg.
Scylla was chartered by DEME for the work after its Orion vessel, which was originally scheduled to carry out installation, was put out of action by a crane collapse.
Moray East will comprise 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines.
