Bentley Motors bids farewell to sales and marketing boss Chris Craft

21 people found this useful Bentley Motors has said an official farewell to its board member for sales and marketing, Chris Craft, as the luxury car maker prepares to welcome Alain Favey from Skoda as his replacement. Craft officially departs the Crewe-based OEM today (April 30), following what was described as an “illustrious 27-year career in the VW Group” and just over three years after joining from Porsche Cars GB. He is taking his retirement after overseeing key launches of the Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur and Bentayga – models which have accelerated the brand to record sales. Craft had previously spent time as the managing director of Porsche Great Britain as well as director of Volkswagen UK and Škoda UK.

The crossover gets twin electric motors, with one on each axle to provide all-wheel-drive and a combined 295bhp. The car primarily runs on the front motor, though, bringing the rear motor into play when required. The result is a 0-60mph sprint of six seconds, meaning the ID.4 GTX has performance that’s almost identical to the firm’s Golf GTI hot hatch. (VW) The GTX gets a few styling tweaks to make it stand out from the rest of the ID.4 range, such as unique daytime running lights that are designed to be similar to the Golf GTI. It also gets a black roof and spoiler, new rear bumper and tweaked diffuser design, while inside there’s a dark blue shade for the door inserts and upper section of the dash, as well as red detailing.

VW s new head of sales operations James Douglas brings agency model experience

Set to start his new role in June, Douglas makes the move at an important time for the brand as it begins to accelerate the roll-out of its ID electric vehicle (EV) product line-up and bring experience of rolling-out an agency sales model for VW’s fleet business. He replaces Patrick McGillycuddy who has “moved to a role in the automotive industry outside Volkswagen Group UK”, the brand said. Douglas has worked in Volkswagen Group for eight years, having joined the business as head of fleet for Audi, before taking on the role as Head of Sales Operations for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in 2017.
