A security guard attacked Tuesday night at a juvenile group home in Enterprise is hospitalized in critical condition, Volusia County sheriff’s officials said Wednesday. The 52-year-old man was attacked at 9:47 p.m. at United Methodist Children’s Home at 51 Children’s Way in Enterprise, deputies said. A 14-year-old boy, Christopher Carpenter, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a uniformed security officer, Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a message on Twitter on Wednesday morning. The teen was taken to the Volusia Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Daytona Beach, he said. In his twitter message, Chitwood asked for prayers for the guard.
