On Thursday evening the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division notified the public that WP Sandin School in Shellbrook would be moving to remote learning (Level 4) from May 25 to 31.
“The Health Authority is working to contain some community transmission events in Shellbrook and now the schools have been significantly impacted,” the release stated.
They explained that previously many WP Sandin students were isolating because of community exposures, but now all classes (except the Grade 10 class) will be under isolation orders until midnight on May 31.
With regards to the move to Level 4 the division noted that that May 21 is a previously scheduled non-school day and May 24 is the Victoria Day holiday so in total students will be in remote learning for 5 school days and are expected to return to in-person learning on Tuesday June 1.
