Whittier Elementary School re-opens after pipes fixed MTN and last updated 2021-02-24 10:18:08-05 GREAT FALLS — After more than a week of remote learning due to frozen pipes, students at Whittier Elementary School in Great Falls will soon be back in the classroom. Great Falls Public Schools announced Tuesday afternoon the school will reopen February 25. The school district had previously said students would be learning remotely through at least February 26. According to the district, the pipes had been fixed as of Tuesday and there is now adequate heat in the building. (FEBRUARY 18) Great Falls Public Schools announced on Thursday that Whittier Elementary School will remain closed through Friday, February 26, due to complications with frost damage to the plumbing and pipes, as well as extensive complications with the boiler and heating systems. The school closed earlier this week due to the frozen pipes.
