KOTA BARU (Bernama): The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) has seized 17,000kg of subsidised packet cooking oil before it could be smuggled out of Kelantan to a neighbouring country.
JOHOR BARU: Eleven men pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here for unauthorised possession of subsidised cooking oil - a controlled item in Malaysia - as well as for attempting to resell the item.
All of the accused, which included three Malaysians, nodded their heads after two charges were read out to them in front of Sessions Court Judge, Ahmad Fuad Othman, here on Thursday (May 6).
The three locals are A. Halim Main, 42, R. Kalisamy, 50, dan B. Saravanan, 28 while the foreigners, all Bangladeshi nationals, are Omar Ali, 34, Rokey, 34, S. M. Mahasin, 34, Muhammad Mansur Alam Sultan Ahmad, 34, Mohamad Saiful Islam Faridul Alam, 23, Kubirahmat Abdul Salam, Md. Atiqur Haja Mahuiddin and Haque Haju.

JOHOR BAHRU: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) busted a syndicate that stole the 1kg subsidised cooking oil in the last six months believed to be worth RM15 million.
Putrajaya KPDNHEP deputy enforcement director (operations) Shamsul Nizam Khalil said they managed to expose the syndicate’s tactics during a raid at industrial premises in Taman Pasir Putih, Pasir Gudang here around 2 am today.
Shamsul Nizam said KPDNHEP found a total of 10,149 1 kg packets of cooking oil and 4.5 tonnes of cooking oil inside a tank with an overall value of RM280,000.

PASIR GUDANG, May 4 The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has successfully crippled a syndicate that misappropriated subsidised cooking oil worth about RM15 million within a six-month period.
The ministry’s Putrajaya Enforcement (Operations) deputy director Shamsul Nizam Khalil said the syndicate’s tactics were uncovered during a pre-dawn raid at an industrial premise in Taman Pasir Putih here early today.
