Pillar of Fire Church Wants to Sell Its Farm, a Hot Colorado Property

Evan Semón In the late 1800s, Presbyterian ministers came up with the idea of establishing a “Princeton of the West” in the Denver area. Henry J. Mayham, a native of New York who’d moved to Colorado, realized that land he owned between Denver and Boulder might increase in value if a Presbyterian university was set up nearby, so he donated 640 acres of land to the Denver Presbytery. Even before the paint went down, I expressed that symbolism is pointless without real change. However, after speaking with the artist, I decided to help out. Even after looking at it, I still felt as if it had done nothing. But I respect the artist’s stance and freedom of expression. In addition, I knew a few of the artists personally.
