B. W. Sheeley, a Parkman rancher, is visiting friends in Sheridan for a few days. Banks and public offices are closed today in accordance with Governor Carey’s proclamation naming this as Arbor Day. Nicholas F. Burks, eyesight specialist, is leaving this afternoon for Lincoln, Neb., to attend the Nebraska State Optometrical Educational Association meeting. The farm bureau unit tentatively organized in Clearmont last week will meet at 2 o’clock this afternoon to create a permanent organization and outline of a program. A dance and social gathering will be held at Ulm tonight to benefit that community’s pledge to the Custer Battlefield Hiway.

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on April 27, 1921. Roy Seney is the nominee for the presidency of the Sheridan Commercial club for the coming year. The slate of officers will be voted upon May 5. City policeman L. B. Moody is confined to his home with an attack of influenza. L. F. Johnston has returned to Sheridan after a business trip in Clearmont, Arvada and other Powder River communities. Street Commissioner Judson Bibb today announced the completion of extensive repairs on the Park street and Fifth street bridges across the Big Goose creek.

The members of four Sheridan churches will assist in the entertainment of the delegates who are in Sheridan for the Boys’ Conference that starts today and continues through April 24. Sim Smith of the Hotel La Dore has returned to the resort in Story after a visit in Sheridan. After two days in Sheridan, Earl C. Green, agricultural agent for the Burlington railway company is leaving for the east on Train 42 today. County Agriculturist H. J. Thomas is conducting an organizational meeting of the Clearmont Farm Bureau today. The event features an old-fashioned picnic dinner at noon, with the business meeting at 2 o’clock.
