Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on March 10, 1921. Total circulation of the Sheridan Enterprise as of yesterday was 2,170 – more than one newspaper to every house. Senator John B. Kendrick is in Sheridan from Washington, having been called home on business. He will remain here for two or three weeks and will be the guest of honor and the principal speaker at a banquet given by the Sheridan Commercial club tonight. C. W. Cooper, pastor of the First Christian church, left on Train 42 today for Arvada.

Sheridan Commercial receives Strength of Sheridan honors – Sheridan Media

Sheridan Commercial Company is the oldest commercial establishment in Sheridan still doing business in the same location – and the winner of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Strength of Sheridan Award for 2020. The award is presented annually to a Chamber member business or organization that has a distinguished tenure of 20 or more years in the community. Voting is by Chamber members, and Chamber CEO Dixie Johnson shared some quotes by those members about Sheridan Commercial during the recent awards presentation: Sheridan Commercial was started in 1892 when Sheridan was seven years old and before the railroad arrived here. Originally located on Alger Street, the company moved to the current location on Broadway when the railroad arrived, with a rooming house and restaurant on the second floor.

A Look Back in Time: February 4, 1921 – Sheridan Media

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Feb. 4, 1921. Demand was made by Sheridan’s Commercial club this morning that the city council say what course the council will take, if any, toward relieving the unemployment crisis in Sheridan. Miss Hazel Brown of Sheridan, who is attending the Colorado State Teachers College at Greeley, has been chosen for the team that will represent the school in the intercollegiate debate for women to be held March 16. A meeting of the Sheridan Commercial club, Rotary club and the Sheridan County Medical association will be held at 7 o’clock tonight to protest a bill expected to be introduced in the state senate tomorrow proposing the sale of the state hospitals to the counties in which they are located.
