A man accused of driving into a crowd of protesters in Cooper Young last year has been indicted by a Shelby County grand jury.
Beau Albauer, 27, is accused of driving into a crowd on Cooper Street during a protest on June 5 of 2020. No one was struck or injured and Albauer was released on the scene with a citation for disregarding a red light, police said after the incident.
On June 8, he was charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving and three felony counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, according to court records.
Blake Ballin, the attorney who represented Albauer in general sessions court, confirmed Albauer had been indicted but said he had not seen the indictment and did not know if Albauer was indicted on all four counts.
