2020 Hugo House Fellows share works of âLuminosityâ for the new year
What is luminosity? According to some basic physics, it is just one of the trinities of light s properties. It sits alongside brightness and flux and contributes to warmth. Besides being a lovely concept to ponder during a grey Pacific Northwest January, luminosity is also the communal theme of the readings featured in this episode of Speakers Forum.
Presented by the Seattle-based writing center Hugo House, this virtual event featured the works of authors and Hugo House Fellows Sasha LaPointe, Abi Pollokoff, Joyce Chen, Piper Lane, Shelby Handler, and Jen Soriano. The writers share personal stories and poems that illuminate and examine family, community, language, and traditions. Through the lens of âLuminosity, the writers also explore themes of resilience, life, and feminism.
