National award for Leitrim students at Enterprise finals

A student from Lough Allen College, Drumkeerin has taken second prize in the Senior category at the National Final of this year’s Student Enterprise Programme.
The finals of the Local Enterprise Office initiative were broadcast virtually on Friday from Croke Park with An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Ambassador Derval O’Rourke speaking with host RTE’s Rick O’Shea, as students and teachers watched on from across the country.
Supported by Local Enterprise Office Leitrim, Amy’s Y2K Vintage won Second Place in the Senior Category. The winning student was Amy Bohan who worked under the guidance of her teacher, Sinead Dore. Amy’s student enterprise was called: Amy’s Y2K Vintage, which had phenomenal sales with her vintage clothing business.

Leitirm Enterprise Office are proud and delighted to announce that Leitrim scored a hat trick at the Student Enterprise National Final earlier this afternoon - and all three winners came from Lough Allen College, Drumkeerin.
Amy Bohan came second in the Senior Category; Covid Monster Comic received the award for Best Adaptability to Covid; and Shane Lowe was awarded second place in the My Entrepreneurial Journey Junior Category.
Well done to all the students, teachers and staff at all at Lough Allen College. A mighty achievement!

Police are still hunting a driver who caused chaos by speeding down Melbourne s Bourke Street Mall, driving erratically and sending pedestrians fleeing.
Officers had tried to pull over the green Mitsubishi Lancer on Swanston Street just before 5pm on Thursday, but the car sped away before turning down Bourke Street.
A male passenger got out of the car and ran away, as police drew their firearms in a bid to stop the driver.
But he did a U-turn back along Bourke Street and escaped.
Officers found the car on Ashworth Street in Albert Park just before 7pm without number plates.
