CEBU CITY – A movement urging Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia to run for Senator in the 2022 elections was launched here Thursday, April 29.

Convenors of the “Gwen for Senator: Ang Probinsyana, Run Gwen Run” movement said they believed Garcia has shown the capabilities that will make her a good Senator.
“The present crop of Senators hailed from provinces with smaller electorates. How come, Cebu has not produced one today,” the group said in a statement.

+ April 29, 2021 A MULTI-sectoral group in Cebu has launched a private initiative urging Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to run for senator in the May 2022 national elections.
However, Garcia remained steadfast in her stand not to seek a higher post next year.

CEBU CITY – For a smoother and more systematic vaccination rollouts, mayors in Cebu were provided with COVID-19 vaccination manuals.

The manual was authored by Ret. Major Gen. Melquidas Feliciano, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)-Visayas Chief Implementer.
Feliciano, Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) Sec. Michael Dino, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Department of Health-Central Visayas (DOH 7) Regional Director Dr. Jaime Bernadas led the distribution of the manuals to at least 40 mayors from Cebu at the Visayas COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) on Wednesday.
