Every candidate has the potential to be a great Premier according to Lunenburg MLA Suzanne Lohnes-Croft but she’s backing Randy Delorey as who she would like to see take over as Nova Scotias’ Premier.
She was particularly impressed with his plans for seniors, with Delorey announcing last week if elected he plans to introduce a low-income seniors dental plan and improve access to hearing aids.
The Lunenburg MLA has also said Delorey has excelled while in multiple high profile cabinet positions.
“He’s always been well-spoken on finance issues and I think that’s a big part of why he was able to succeed at Finance and Treasury, being able to communicate complex financial ideas to the public is such a valuable asset,” Lohnes-Croft said. ” I’ve always appreciated his work ethic on all his files, he’s an exceptional politician, he’s caring and he’s just a normal down to earth person.”

The province is committed to encouraging activities that celebrate Mi’kmaw culture. Towards that end, the province is investing $50,800 in four projects designed to explore, revitalize, share and experience both traditional and emerging Mi’kmaw culture.
One of the recipients, Potlotek First Nation, is receiving $10,000 to complete a research project into the Mi’kmaw legend of Kluskap and the Beaver. The funding supports an animated short film for use in classrooms.
“The Mi’kmaq are the longest-standing stewards of the language and culture of this land,” said Suzanne Lohnes-Croft, Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage. “Our celebration of Mi’kmaw culture is fundamental to our shared understanding of where we live, and who we are. I want to offer my gratitude to these organizations for helping build a more vibrant and sustainable future for Nova Scotia and Mi’kma’ki.”
