A detention deputy was making rounds early Friday morning and noticed part of inmate’s window was covered by paper. Under the paper, the deputy found the inmate had been working on making a hole in the glass, close to 6-inches around. The Sheriff’s Office reports several layers of glass were broken, but the inmate was not able to get all the way through and reach an area outside of the building. If the inmate in question had been able to complete the hole, officials say this would have been big enough to get dangerous contraband items into the jail.
